Carrie Sieh
Carrie Sieh (b.1978, Los Angeles CA) is an artist and librarian living and working in Miami, Florida. Her work engages with histories and intersections of ecology, economics, gender, memory, and technology. She received a BA in painting and photography from University of California at Santa Cruz (2001), and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University in California (2008). She is also a cofounder of the Miami Artist Census.
Sieh has participated in residencies at Atlantic Center for the Arts, Oolite Arts, Bakehouse Art Complex, and the Deering Estate. Selected exhibitions include Artis-Naples Museum, Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts, Coral Gables Museum, Art & Culture Center of Hollywood, and Miami International Airport. Collections include 21c Hotels; James Hotel; United Way; Francie Bishop Good & David Horvitz (Girl’s Club); Kathryn Grody & Mandy Patinkin, and private collections nationally and internationally. Sieh is a member of W.A.G.E., and is represented by Bernice Steinbaum Gallery in Miami, FL.
