Dimensions Variable’s Artist Membership connects artists to visibility, professional resources, direct support, and a broader artist-led community. Founded and directed by artists, DV understands what it takes to sustain a creative practice. The Membership is built to offer practical support, strengthen connections, and expand access to resources and opportunities. Artists do not need to live in Miami to join. Core benefits are available to members throughout the United States, and additional in-person opportunities are offered through DV’s Miami programs and space.
Membership is $20 per month, with a one-year commitment.
Supporting Artists and Building Community
Since 2009, Dimensions Variable has supported artists through exhibitions, stable studios, publications, conversations, professional opportunities, and experimental projects. Our Artist Membership extends this work by building a growing network of artists connected through shared resources, greater visibility, direct support, and the exchange of ideas.
Membership contributions also help sustain DV as an independent, artist-founded nonprofit. By joining, members invest in their own development and in a broader cultural ecosystem centered on artists. The membership is organized around four areas of support: Visibility and Promotion, Professional Resources, Community and Connection, and Support and Opportunities.

Throughout the year, Artist Members receive a thoughtful series of communications, spotlights, professional resources, and opportunities developed according to DV’s membership and editorial calendar.
Visibility and Promotion
We help artists and their work become more visible within the DV community and beyond.
Artist Members receive:
- Inclusion in the online Artist Member Directory
- Opportunities to be featured through Artist Member Spotlights
- Opportunities to share exhibitions, publications, awards, residencies, open studios, and other professional milestones through selected DV communications
- Consideration for artist profiles, interviews, and editorial features in the Journal & Archive
- Consideration for digital exhibitions, publications, and curatorial projects
- Recognition as part of a growing artist-led community connecting artists locally and nationally
Members provide their own approved images, links, and information for directory listings, announcements, and promotional features. Artist Member Spotlights are shared throughout the year according to DV’s membership calendar. Editorial features and curatorial projects follow DV’s editorial priorities and available capacity.
Professional Resources
Artists need practical tools and reliable information to support their work.
Artist Members receive:
- Access to DV’s growing collection of guides, templates, and reference materials
- Resources for artist statements, biographies, CVs, budgets, documentation, exhibitions, shipping, and studio visits
- Information about select grants, residencies, open calls, commissions, and other opportunities
- Curated selections of interviews, essays, and professional knowledge from the Journal & Archive
- Special member pricing for designated DV programs and benefit events
- Information about professional services, discounts, and resources offered through DV and its partners, when available
Professional services may include documentation, framing, fabrication, installation, shipping, or design. Availability and pricing will be shared in advance.
Community and Connection
Artist Membership connects artists across cities and regions to learn about one another’s work, exchange knowledge, and stay part of an artist-led community. The Journal & Archive is central to this exchange. Through artist profiles, interviews, essays, and project documentation, it connects artists across locations while building a lasting record of artists, ideas, and cultural activity.
Artist Members receive:
- Opportunities to discover and connect with artists through the online Artist Member Directory
- Opportunities to share selected professional milestones with the membership community through DV communications
- Access to artist profiles, interviews, essays, and other content published through the Journal & Archive
- Opportunities to be considered for future editorial and digital projects
- Invitations to selected DV programs, exhibitions, conversations, and community events
- Opportunities to learn about and connect with the practices of artists working in Miami and throughout the United States
Miami-Based Opportunities
Members who live in or visit Miami may also receive:
- Invitations to selected in-person Artist Member gatherings and events
- Access to periodic artist conversations and professional-development activities
- Limited access to the DV space for approved studio visits and small professional gatherings
- Access to designated documentation days, visiting-curator programs, and other Miami-based opportunities when available
Use of the DV space depends on availability and advance approval and works around DV’s exhibitions, studios, and public programs.
Support and Opportunities
DV creates opportunities for Artist Members to receive direct support and take part in selected programs.
Artist Members are eligible for:
- The Artist Member Microgrant
- Consideration for exhibitions and curatorial programs
- Consideration for digital exhibitions, publications, and projects through the Journal & Archive
- Selected studio visits and professional-development opportunities
- Member-only calls and opportunities developed by DV and its partners, when available
Member-only opportunities may include projects, publications, studio visits, professional services, or other forms of artist support. Some opportunities have limited capacity and require a separate application, invitation, editorial review, or curatorial selection. Artist Membership does not guarantee participation in an exhibition, publication, studio visit, project, or funding opportunity.
Artist Member Microgrant
Beginning in Fall 2026, Dimensions Variable will launch the Artist Member Microgrant, a pilot program providing direct financial support to eligible Artist Members throughout the United States. The Artist Member Microgrant supports artist-identified needs that contribute meaningfully to the development, continuation, or presentation of a practice.
Funding may support:
- Materials and fabrication
- Artwork documentation
- Research and travel
- Shipping and installation
- Professional services
- Residency or application expenses
- Childcare connected to an artistic opportunity
- Studio needs
- Other expenses that help an artist develop, complete, or share their work
