Annam Miami and Commissioner present Sangam / Desert, inspired by artist Stuart Sheldon’s For Freedoms Billboard project. Join us for an experiential five-course plant-based meal that explores the issues of abundance and scarcity and the journey our food takes to reach our plates.
During this eclectic evening, where ideas converge at the intersection of food, art, and activism, Commissioner members are invited to volunteer to help serve and work in the kitchen. Special guest artist Cara Despain joins Annam Miami to create a space for discussion and future action around food, social justice and other pressing issues facing our society.

About Annam Miami
ANNAM grew out of a need to bring authentic and delicious home-cooked Indian food to the Miami area. Our recipes are not found in mainstream restaurants because they come from the kitchens of our mothers, aunts, and grandmothers from the villages and big bustling cities of India.
ANNAM is not a restaurant. We offer a weekly meal delivery service, or ‘Tiffin’. Tiffin, in India, refers to the tradition of packing home-cooked meals in containers that are delivered to customers around the city.
ANNAM means cooked rice in the Telegu language but it also refers symbolically to the meal itself. ‘Annam Tindamma’ (let’s eat dinner) is a familiar call uttered by moms in South Indian homes.
About Commissioner
Commissioner is a membership program that helps art enthusiasts learn more about art collecting, build their art collection, visit artist studios, and explore collector homes.
Designed to cultivate a more connected, arts-invested Miami community, our program provides members with the opportunity to receive four original, limited edition artworks by thriving, contemporary visual artists in Miami.
Memberships are available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis, to those who join during the enrollment period.
Memberships also include a robust program of thoughtfully-planned and engaging events throughout the year that give our community access to unique experiences and curated content.
