Let’s Talk—Place. It’s a subject we think about all the time in Miami. (When was the last time you had a conversation here that didn’t include real estate?) We need places to create, to show work, to gather. To live. But increasingly, our studios, performance spaces, galleries, theaters, homes, neighborhoods, and community spaces are being lost to development, soaring costs, and what can seem like overwhelming social and economic forces. Previous solutions aren’t cutting it anymore. And yet Miami has been and is still our home. What have we experienced? What have we lost? Why are places for art important? What do we need? What do we want?
Refreshments are provided but in a community/potluck spirit, we welcome contributions of food and drink. Dimensions Variable is located at 101 NW 79 Street, Miami, FL 33150.
