Let’s Talk–History, our history. Miami is notoriously forgetful of its past—too often, so is the cultural community. But nothing happens in a vacuum, least of all culture. There’s power in our past. If we don’t remember and recount, our remarkable Miami cultural history, its heroes and pioneers, triumphs and struggles, joys and heartbreak, who will? As people increasingly realize the irreplaceable value of unique regional cultures, and how they enrich an increasingly homogeneous international art world, capturing Miami’s history–our history—is more important than ever. Because if you don’t tell your story, it disappears.
Refreshments are provided but in a community/potluck spirit, we welcome contributions of food and drink. Dimensions Variable is located at 101 NW 79 Street, Miami, FL 33150.
