Patricia Van Dalen

Patricia Van Dalen (Maracaibo, 1955) is a Venezuelan visual artist
based in Miami. Her practice spans painting, collage, and assemblage, and extends into site-specific works — ephemeral interventions and permanent architectural integrations — across residential, institutional, and urban settings. By the 1990s, she had consolidated a position within Venezuelan contemporary art. Jardín Lumínico (2004–2005), the ceramic tile mural along the Prados del Este highway in Caracas, functions at metropolitan scale. Her work is organized around fragmentation, constraint, and variation, through a continuous exploration of materials, with color as a structural axis.
