Members can join us for an intimate gathering to get to know Omar Lopez-Chahoud, Independent Curator and former Artistic Director and Curator of UNTITLED. It’s your opportunity to connect and learn more about the curator in an intimate setting with wine and small bites. This event will be held on September 28, 2025, at 2 pm.
Omar Lopez-Chahoud is the Curator and International Director of Y.ES Contemporary and formerly served as the Artistic Director and Curator of UNTITLED, a position he held since its founding in 2012. He led the curatorial team of UNTITLED through its 10th Anniversary in 2021, shaping its innovative and inclusive approach to contemporary art exhibitions.
As an independent curator, Lopez-Chahoud has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions in the United States and internationally, including the Nicaraguan Biennial in March 2014. His curatorial projects include “NY/Prague6” at Futura Contemporary Art Center in Prague, Czech Republic, and the critically acclaimed “Lush Life,” which spanned nine New York galleries: Salon 94, Invisible Exports, Lehmann Maupin, Eleven Rivington, On Stellar Rays, Y Gallery, Scaramouche, Sue Scott Gallery, and Collette Blanchard Gallery. He also curated “The Pipe and the Flow” at Espacio Minimo in Madrid, Spain. López-Chahoud has contributed essays to several publications, including the catalogues for Dynasty (2006) and Rewind/Re-Cast/Review (2005). He has participated in curatorial panel discussions at prominent institutions such as Artists’ Space, Art in General, MoMA PS1, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City and served as a guest critic at Art Omi in 2007. López-Chahoud holds MFAs from both Yale University School of Art and the Royal Academy of Art in London. He continues to foster meaningful dialogues and opportunities within the international art community as Curator and International Director of Y.ES Contemporary.
He was honored with an IX Nomination in 2024.
