Ricardo Alcaide (b. 1967 Caracas, Venezuela) currently lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium. Hinged between the poetic and the political, his juxtapositions of images and objects question how people cope with economic and social exclusion in different environments. He has been interested in the Latin American Modernist Movement’s often un-acknowledged debt to vernacular world architecture.

Recent exhibitions include: Holding the Horizon, Dimensions Variable, Miami; Remains, curated by Gabriel Perez-Barreiro, Galeria Leme, Sao Paulo; A Matter Of, Dimension Variable, Miami; Anthology Of Art And Architecture, Fortes D’aloia & Gabriel gallery, Sao Paulo; So What?, Arroniz Arte Contemporaneo.
